In case you hadn't heard, Doctor Who celebrates its 50th anniversary tomorrow. And here's how you can be part of the party

IT is the television show everyone is talking about this weekend - the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who. So where better to visit for a family day out than the place where the programme is filmed - Cardiff Bay.

And there is lots going on in the Bay this weekend to mark the anniversary, with the centrepiece of events at the Doctor Who Experience.

Fans with tickets will get the chance to step into the Eleventh Doctor's actual TARDIS tomorrow. Doctor Who Walking Tours of different sites and locations linked to the series are also planned.

Brad Kelly, general manager of the Doctor Who Experience, said: "Where better to celebrate the 50th anniversary than being surrounded by one of the largest collections of Doctor Who memorabilia around.

"We will have live monsters touring the exhibition throughout the weekend and on Sunday we will be updating the experience with actual props and costumes from tomorrow night's anniversary episode." And if that was not enough, there will then be a 50th Anniversary Episode Screening at the Odeon cinema in the nearby Red Dragon Centre.

People who have bought general admission tickets for the Doctor Who Experience will also be able to get a cheaper cinema ticket.

So you get to join other fans for a private screening of 'The Day of the Doctor' - in 3D.

Andrew Kemmery, operations manager at The Red Dragon Centre said: "The Red Dragon Centre is delighted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who this weekend.

"Doctor Who is something that has always been a strong part of the centre and Cardiff Bay as a whole and we cannot wait to welcome families over the weekend to enjoy this special experience with us."

For more information about the Doctor Who Experience visit www.doctorwhoexperience.com. Tickets are around £16 for children and £22 for adults.
