At last! Denizens of the den late on Friday nights, you
may emerge. Those of you who tune your televisions at 10:30 p.m. Fridays to KCPT, that educational Channel 19, our town's public television station, to watch the Dr. Who program, there's good news for you.
And the news is that the Dr. Who Celebration and Tour are coming to our town. You may see this sophisticated traveling exhibit, prepared by the British Broadcasting Corp., from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 16. There will be activities inside and outside the KCPT building at 125 E. 31st St.
Outside, in a place near the station, will be a 48-foot trailer containing an exhibit. You'll enter a "Tardis," Dr. Who's time traveler, and then see space aliens, animation and special effects. See, too, the doctor's vintage car, Bessie. And see, inside the studios, a 30-minute film of interviews with the actors who have played Dr. Who. The series producer, John Nathan-Turner, is to be in our town for the exhibition.
