NEW Time Lord Peter Capaldi admits he is hooked on Doctor Who.
He confessed he's obsessed with old episodes, while filming the show this week.
He said "I can't stop watching them. I have so many favourites. I don't want to start naming them, because I'll end up forgetting a bunch and possibly offend my new work associates."
In his first interview since taking on the role, the former Thick Of It star added: "I was five when the show started. I don't remember Doctor Who not being part of my life. It became a part of growing up, along with the Beatles, National Health spectacles and fog. It's in my DNA."
The 55-year-old actor admitted he felt out of his comfort zone when he was unveiled as the 12th Time Lord on a special BBC1 show presented by Zoe Ball. He told the February issue of Doctor Who Magazine: "I was nervous about the 'Tonight, Matthew, I'm going to be Doctor Who' element. It seemed a million miles away from the job. But in the end, I enjoyed it."
Capaldi, who wrote a fan letter about the show to Radio Times in 1974, appears later this year in at least 13 episodes.
