Dalek Sec Hybrid Voice Changer Helmets will be one of the boys' toys of choice this Christmas, Character Group predicted as it announced a surge in interim profits.
The sci-fi headgear is in the same range as a Cyberman product that won toy of the year last year. Character has also secured a licence for The Sarah Jane Adventures, a Dr Who spin-off.
Character has also come up with Spidersapien, a fusion of Spider-Man and its 2005 hit Robosapien, which is expected to lead its range of toys related to Spider-Man 3, the film is to be released next month. Character said it had its strongest ever range of toys and games.
Pre-tax profit in the six months to the end of February rose from £2.96m to £6.3m, on sales from continuing activities that rose from £40.7m to £56m.
Shares in the toy maker, which have risen from about 70p over the past 12 months, yesterday eased 8 1/2p to 200p.
