URBANA — Sylvester McCoy, the seventh and newest Doctor Who, will appear at the Doctor Who Celebration and Tour from 3 to 9 p.m. July 9 in the Urbana Civic Center.
The event commemorates the perennially popular BBC television series "Doctor Who," broadcast at 10:30 p.m. weeknights on WILL-TV, Channel 12.
A 48-foot mobile exhibition will feature the show's most famous monsters and villians, and visitors may enter through the doctor's time-traveling craft. In addition, McCoy will have question-and-answer sessions and sign autographs.
Documentaries on the TV series will be shown, and various Doctor Who merchandise will be sold.
Tickets will be $7.50 at the door.
