Terry Nation, in case you didn't know, was the inventor of the Daleks in Dr Who. In his book Rebecca is mysteriously transported to the planet that she has been observing through her father's telescope.
Once there she makes some hilarious friends: Grisby. who had the most painful feet in the universe and also an infinite number of green fur coats; Captain K. a shy bespectacled superman, and Kovak, an unemployed spy. She also meets the greedy millionaire Mr Glister.
Rebecca comes face to face with the eerie ghosts who control the planet, and with her friends sets up to find the last ghost tree whose powers are and thrills galore capable of banishing the ghosts for ever. To get to the tree they have to travel through forbidden lands where hideous creatures and evil traps are hidden.
Children of all ages will enjoy this gripping and bizarre story. It would also be very suitable for an older child to read aloud to younger members of the family.
