Doctor Who, the man who has traveled to Beetlegeuse and Arcturas Seven while saving Earth from total destruction, is in Fort Myers today.

He's the central character in the PBS series "Doctor Who," the longest-running science fiction show ever. "Doctor Who" airs weekdays at 6:30 p.m. on WSFP-TV, Channel 30.

"The Doctor Who Celebration and Tour," which stops at Edison Community College (Building E) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., includes a visit from British actor Peter Davison, the fifth and youngest Doctor Who. Davison is perhaps best known to American audiences as Tristan Farnun, the young veterinarian in the PBS series "All Creatures Great and Small."

Also part of the tour is what is billed as an "experience theater on wheels," featuring the show's most famous monsters and villains with speicial-effects animation, lighting and sound.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students and senior citizens, and free to children 5 and under.
