News that a ten-part serial had been slimmed down to a 90-minute version may have worried purists, but those fears are unfounded. For this is a perfectly coherent, colourised take on Patrick Troughton's 1969 sendoff, complete with some charming surprises for long-time viewers.

It's also a canny move, as black-and-white 1960s storytelling at that original length is a daunting prospect for most younger fans. Here, they get to witness Troughton's influential take on the Doctor, as well as a bold story of brainwashing at a faster pace. Catch a special Who Prom tomorrow at 4.10pm over on BBC2.
