The series' new Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, told Variety that now was the perfect time for the return of the classic sci-fi show, "because we have Russell T Davies back at the helm. He's incredible and a massive Whovian. He is making these stories more exciting and adventurous and scary and joyful and funny than they've been in a while." The first episode features a scene they filmed with 20 babies. "They were such divas," Gatwa joked. "They had so many demands."
