[edit]

FORMER Dr. Who actor Peter Davison ended up in the cockpit of a Concorde yesterday after arriving late for a supersonic flight.

Davison, with actress wife Sandra Dickinson and newborn baby Georgia, turned up for the flight without booking and with only minutes to spare.

British Airways managed to find ordinary seats for mother and baby but the former Time Lord had to be content with a spare seat up in the cockpit.

"Just give me a telephone box and I'll get there on my own," quipped Davison as he rushed through the Heathrow departure lounge.

"I'd rather be with the family but I'm happy to have a seat. It's not quite Tardis but it is still only a short flight on Concorde," he said before boarding.

The family are planning to. have an extended holiday in the United States although Davison will spend one day at a Dr. Who convention in Los Angeles.

A British Airways spokesman said: "This seat is not used very often by passengers, but it is entirely at the discretion of the captain."
