DOCTOR WHO star Ncuti Gatwa will fill the shoes of his predecessor David Tennant when he makes his debut as the new doctor on Christmas Day.
But don't be surprised if you see Gatwa, 31, barefooted as he says wearing no shoes was the key to securing the role of the Tardis-dweller. 'I felt nervous, which made me feel restricted and tight in my body,' the Rwandan-Scottish actor, pictured above with sidekick Millie Gibson, says of the audition.
'I told them: "I'm just going to take my shoes off, so I feel like I'm in my living room rehearsing this. Because when I did it last night in front of my flatmate, it was amazing.'
