Roger Delgado, the British actor, has been killed in road accident near Nevsehir, Turkey, while on his way to a film location. He was 53.
He was traveling with two Turkish film technicians when their hired car ran off the road into a ravine. One technician was killed, while the driver and the other technician were badly injured.
Mr. Delgado was to have taken part in a Turkish-French co-production for television entitled "Tibet Cani" (Bell of Tibet).
Police in Gulsehir, where the accident occured said the car ran off the road at a bend because it was going too fast

Roger Caesar Delgado portrayed the master in the BBC television series "Dr Who." Born in London of French and Spanish parents he began his stage career in 1938 and entered films and television in 1950.
Among the television series in which he played leading parts were "Francis Drake," "Vendetta," "Troubleshooters", "Man in the Iron Mask," and "Borderers." Films in which he appeared included "Khartoum," and "Anthony and Cleopatra."
