WHO'S WINDING UP DOC?
CHRISTMAS is a time for sharing – except if you're The Doctor.
Peter Capaldi has become a bit of a Scrooge on set when it comes to anyone playing with his Tardis.
Little Britain star Matt Lucas – who is back in this year's Christmas special The Return Of Doctor Mysterio playing Nardole – gets to fly the famous time-travelling machine.
But off camera, his co-star was none too happy to see someone else fiddling with his knobs.
Matt tells Doctor Who Magazine: "In the show I can fly the Tardis. When you press buttons and things, Peter gets a bit annoyed and slightly pushes you out the way. It's true.
"It's a great way to wind him up."
In the special, fans will see The Doc accidentally turn an eight-year-old boy called Grant into a superbeing.
Thirty years later the Time Lord ends up in New York and meets him again. However, Grant is not only a live-in nanny who also reads comics about Spiderman and Batman by day but also a crime-fighting superhero called The Ghost by night.
The Doc hooks up with The Ghost, an investigative reporter called Lucy (Charity Wakefield) and Nardole to battle an army of brain-swapping aliens.
Next year Matt becomes a full-time companion in the BBC series along with newcomer Pearl Mackie as Bill. But he said: "I'm very aware there is a section of the fanbase – who are maybe small, but certainly outspoken – who don't approve of the idea that Nardole has been brought back.
"I can't tell you why he needs to come back, but I can tell you that he does need to come back. There's a job that needs to be done, and it's not a job that the Doctor can do on his own.
"Nardole is there to help him. It'll all become clear."

HERE'S Canadian actor Justin Chatwin as masked superhero The Ghost.
But don't be fooled into thinking the War Of The Worlds star is a muscled hunk.
He giggled: "You know, the costume did such a wonderful job that I actually didn't even have to go to the gym"
Lucy love for Ghost
THE special has a whiff of Superman and Lois Lane about it.
Grant is in love with reporter Lucy, but she's in love with The Ghost – unaware of his true identity.
A source said: "That Superman can disguise himself with only a pair of glasses is the most poetic thing in the world."
If show boss Steven Moffat could have a superpower it would be the ability to fly. He said: "Flying would be awesome. But X-ray vision sounds a bit pervy to me, so I don't think I'd like that ... that'd be too much of a temptation.
The Return of Doctor Mysterio's title comes from a line in the Christmas episode where Grant tells the Time Lord: "In a comic book you'd be called Doctor Mysterio!" It's also what the sci-fi programme is known as in Mexico.
