THE BBC have been asked to explain their decision to spend £750,000 on a new American TV series without even having seen it.
The request was made yesterday by Tory MP Vivian Bendall who claimed the move showed a "gross disregard" to Britain's TV licence payers.
He said the decision was "even more amazing" in the light of the postponement of the Dr Who series through lack of cash.
Filming has just started on the American series, Kane and Abel — based on novelist Jeffrey Archer's best-seller.
