Christmas Day, BBC1, 6pm
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Doctor Who taking on the forces of darkness, and here he is in Steven Moffat's reworking of (what else?) A Christmas Carol. Michael Gambon plays Kazran Sardick, a miserable miser who refuses to help a stricken spaceship, until the Doctor finds a way to change his flinty heart, which he does with the help of luscious Welsh mezzo Katherine Jenkins as a pneumatic waif.
