ACTOR Tom Baker, Dr Who of the popular TV series, who has parted from his actress wife Lalla Ward says: "I still love her."
Lalla was Dr Who's sexy young assistant in the long-running TV sci-fi saga.
The couple met and fell in love while travelling through time and space in the doctor's space machine, The Tardis.
They split up two weeks ago.
Tearful
But Tom still telephones Lalla every morning to see how she is feeling.
She is 16 years younger than 47-year-old Tom.
He says: "Just because you live apart does not necessarily mean that you stop loving one another."
Lalla quit Tom's Chelsea fiat, and has set up home nearby.
Says Tom: "I don't count our marriage as being over. It is, however, more than a trial separation."
Lalla, daughter of Viscount Bangor, has been tearful over the parting.
She explained: "It's silly to get upset because we are still very good friends.
