DOCTOR Who boss Steven Moffat has told fans "not to get their sonic screwdrivers in a twist" after they moaned that the BBC wasn't doing enough to mark the show's 50th anniversary.

Who-vians have taken to the net to complain that the Beeb should be doing more than screening a 60-minute special in November to pay tribute to the long-running series.

The episode is rumoured to be a multi-Doctor extravaganza featuring as many of the surviving actors who have played the Time Lord as they can muster including the current one Matt Smith, 30, along with David Tennant, 41, and Tom Baker, 79.

But Moffatt, 50, says: "There are a lot of different things going on. Don't believe the nonsense about one 60-minute film. That is complete nonsense."

Other rumoured projects in November - the month the show was launched in 1963 - include a BBC3 documentary, a BBC2 Culture Show special, a Radio 4 tribute and a drama about how the series began, written by Mark Gatiss.
