WAREHAM-based modelmaker Martin borrow a lot of it back for this exhibition Bower managed to salvage some of the from private collectors."
Martin, 33, has worked on some of the most famous science fiction films and television programmes of the last 13 years — including Dr Who, Blake's Seven, Allen, Flash Gordon and Tripods.
But he explained: "Most of my work is destroyed after filming. I've had to borrow a lot of it back for this exhibition from private collectors."
Martin began his career making model spaceships for the TV series Space 1999 — after he'd been pestering producers for months to employ him.
Since then, he's never been out of work — despite never having any formal training.
The exhibition is at the gallery in South Street, Wareham, from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm until Saturday.
Caption: Three young visitors to the exhibition — Rachel Punter, Chris Waddington and Jamie Punter from Ensbury Park — admire a model from the BBC series Tripods.
