DOCTOR Who has a history of scaring fans with the Daleks, Cybermen and Weeping Angels.
But the sci-fi show might risk over-stepping the mark this week in terms of pre-watershed terror when an army of zombies runs amok.
The episode called Oxygen sees The Doctor and Bill Potts (Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie) land on a space station where they discover a large number of the crew have died from asphyxiation and decompression.
But they come back from the dead with bloated heads and sightless eyes.
And the grisly undead march around Space Station Chasm Forge looking to kill any humans left on board.
Even the show's writer Jamie Mathieson is surprised that some of the terrifying scenes have been cleared for broadcast.
He tells Doctor Who Magazine: "I went along to see some of the episode being shot and the monsters are horrible. I was thinking: 'Yeah, they're not going to be able to use that shot'. "Even the director said to me: 'I can't see them letting us get away with that'.
"I saw three or four monsters that they'd made up and they were quite hard to look at."
