B.B.C. viewers complain - what about the Daleks?
B.B.C. TV switchboards throughout the country were flooded with calls of complaints last night—about a broken promise.
The calls came seconds after the screening of the new Dr. Who series.
All week the B.B.C. had "plugged" the serial on TV and in the Press, saying the famous Daleks — the metal robots from outer space - would return to the screen on Saturday.
The Daleks DID return last night — fifteen seconds from the end of the programme, which was screened at 5.40 p.m.
A B.B.C. official said in London: "Our switchboard was flooded with calls from viewers who thought the Daleks would be on for the major part of the programme.
