THE Saturday evening Children's Hour television serial, Dr. Who," is to be censored, after discussions among B.B.C. executives.
The science-fiction thriller is featuring the return of the Daleks, a fanciful race of robot-monsters. In a recent episode, viewers saw Dr. Who, played by William Hartnell, being put on an operating table and threatened by whip-wielding Daleks.
Some B.B.C. executives complained that this was not ideal children's viewing. Their criticism was accepted as part of a general campaign to make the weekend hour between five and six o'clock a more suitable family entertainment period.
