Tristan is taking over as the TV timelord

THE new Dr Who will be Peter Davison, who played Tristan in All Creatures Great And Small.

Last night the 29-year-old actor was celebrating with his wife, former St Bruno girl, Sandra Dickinson.

He said: I've been on cloud nine since I was offered the job."

Doomed

The BBC yesterday announced Peter will take over from Tom Baker next autumn.

But even Siegfried's little brother won't be able to save K9, the doctor's faithful but doomed assistant. Peter will be the fifth and youngest actor to play the timelord.
