The immortal Doctor Who may be absent from the small screen at the moment, but the colourful lord of time isn't out of mind as far as two Rainham teenagers are concerned.
Space time as far as Nigel Blackman and Richard Bignell are concerned is taken up with cataloguing as many pieces of Doctor Who memorabilia as they can muster.
And now Nigel and Richard, both pupils at Rainham's Howard School, have produced a magazine / catalogue which has found readers as far afield as Scotland.
Rainham is home to countless Cybermen, Daleks, Ice Warriors and Orgons in a selection of books, magazines, cereal packet cards and more.
Both lads, now 15 and sharing their time with 'O' level study, have been firm fans of the Doctor since early childhood.
They have joined the 2,000 strong Doctor Who Appreciation Society through its magazine called Chronotis.
It's an exhaustive guide to past works on the good Doctor and even settles the argument once and for all about who did really control the Autons.
Nigel tells me that collectors are based all over the country and ready to snap up gems such as his Radio Times Doctor Who Special which he says could now fetch £20.
But he does admit that his schoolchums are less enthusiastic. When asked how they regard his and Richard's fascination he said: "They think we are idiots."
Little do they know that Doctor Who fans are numbered even among those with grey hair.
As for the past, Nigel thinks Jon Pertwee was the best and, gazing into the future, he reckons the new Doctor, Peter Davison, will keep up the traditions of a Time Lord with honour.
Fans will be pleased to hear that the new Doctor appears on BBC 1 in the New Year and in the meantime, the BBC is planning to screen a series or repeats.
And tonight all five Doctors are featured on Blue Peter.
