B.B.C. TV switchboards throughout the country were flooded with calls of complaints last night—about a broken promise. The calls came seconds after the screening of [[broadwcast:The Dalek Invasion of Earth|the new Dr. Who series]]. All week the B.B.C. had "plugged" the serial on TV and in the Press, saying the famous Daleks — the metal robots from outer space - would return to the screen on Saturday. The Daleks DID return last night — fifteen seconds from the end of the programme, which was screened at 5.40 p.m. A B.B.C. official said in London: "Our switchboard was flooded with calls from viewers who thought the Daleks would be on for the major part of the programme. }}
