BBC accountant jailed over Doctor Who theft
An accountant has been jailed for two years for stealing from the budget of British sci-fi series Doctor Who.
Oliver Ager, 35, from Somerset, England took $120,000 from BBC funds while working on accounts for the show and medical drama Casualty.
He was fired from his job with the corporation in 2012, and went on to admit 17 fraud charges at Cardiff Crown Court in Wales.
Ager has now been sentenced to two years in jail.
A BBC spokesman says, "When the BBC became aware of the serious allegations it contacted the police and began an internal investigation."
