WENDY PADBURY, the Hammer smith actress who plays the part of Zoe in television's "Dr. Who," has told the BBC that she is leaving the series in June.

Aged 21, Wendy was chosen for the part because of her little girl looks, and the fact that she is only five feet tall.

She has been in the Saturday children's science fiction programme for well over a year, and now she wants to leave and play other roles.

Dr. Who comes off the screen for a time during the summer before returning in the autumn, and when it winds up this time Patrick Troughton, who plays Dr. Who, and Frazer Hines, who plays Jamie, the other two main characters, are also leaving the series.

The BBC have however said that they are continuing with the series, and that it will be back later in the year, although they do not yet know who will take over the leading roles.

Wendy. who lives in Portland Road, Holland Park, has nothing else lined up as yet, but she is hoping to go into films or perhaps get other television parts.
