PLEASED to meet you-and a dream came true for 11-year-old Mark Rawlinson in Liverpool today, when he came face-to-face with a Dalek.
The Ainsdale schoolbooy was one of the first arrivals at the Dr Who Convention at the Adelphi Hotel by the Merseyside branch of the series' Appreciation Society.
Mark-who came with his friend James Jackson, 10, from Burscough-said: "It's always been my ambition to get close to a real Dalek!
"I've been watching Dr Who since I was three and I think it's terrific."
More than 300 Dr Who fans from all over the country are gathering at the convention, along with Daleks and Cybermen, videos, and appearances by some of the show's monsters.
Guests from the show's past and present will be appearing during the weekend, including the present Dr Who girl Sophie Aldred.
Youngest fan at today's event was Katy Taylor, aged 2 1/2, from Ramsgate, Kent, who came for a treat with her uncle and aunt, Dale and Sally Flayton.
