[edit]

Michael Grade - who killed off the time-travelling doctor when he was at the BBC in the 1980s - has rejected a peace offering from the Dr Who Appreciation Society.

Ian Wheeler, the co-ordinator, offered the BBC Chairman honorary membership.

"With Mr Grade back at the BBC, I thought it would be nice to bury the hatchet.

Sadly, I heard back that he wasn't up for it."
