[edit]

Two of the 5ft-tall robots which have been amusing children for the past seven weeks in the BBC serial Dr. Who are being given to Dr. Barnardo's Holmes. The robots are members of the futuristic race of Daleks, extinct since last Saturday's episode.

They were the villains of the series, but were popular because of their strange voices and peculiar behaviour. Scores of children wrote asking what would happen to them when they met their end. The series will continue with new villains.
