Another programme eagerly anticipated was the rematerialisation of "Doctor Who" (BBC 1 Monday).
Apparently still made for about £20 an episode, it is now burdened with yet another duff reworking of the theme tune and the Doctor himself.
Casting Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor is about as inspired as making Mike Gatting play in goal for Arsenal. Give him Bonnie Langford and all that's missing are War and Death to make up the expected Four Horsemen. Oh, and then put it on at half past seven on a Monday night. The best bit was Kate O'Mara as the beautifully evil villainess.
