NEW YORK (AP)

CBS-Fox Video has acquired exclusive North American home video rights to nearly the entire British Broadcasting Corp. library of films and television shows, BBC Enterprises and CBS-Fox officials announced Monday.

The agreement also granted CBS-Fox the rights to future projects produced by the BBC - which adds about 5,000 programming hours annually to its library - during the undisclosed term of the agreement.

Paul Wagner, a CBS-Fox spokesman, said the only productions not included in the deal were the "small proportion" co-produced by the BBC where the BBC did not control home video rights.

Already slated for home video release by CBS-Fox are 100 titles, including episodes of "Fawlty Towers" starring John Cleese, "Dr. Who," and productions of "Eric Clapton in Concert," "Pride and Prejudice" and "Pigeon Street." Wagner said the first titles should be in stores in about six months.
