THE Big Scare was over violence with Mrs Whitehouse and many others convincing the Government and the BBC it was time for a new inquiry.

Dr Who was shelved for 18 months after I pointed out that the last series ended in cannibalism, with a nasty alien called Shockeye taking a carving knife to nubile Peri (Nicola Bryant) is the kitchen.

Not nice for the little kiddies at home, who might try to practice on their little sisters.

Despite the advertising industry spending £1 billion in the year to influence the nation's millions to run out and buy things they don't want, the BBC and ITV bigwigs continue to insist that there is no evidence that TV can make people behave in certain ways.

So they go on saying that TV cannot possibly be responsible for the wave of mugging, bashing, knocking about and general mayhem afflicting the country.
