ALAS, my fervour for the pantomimes has run away with most of the space and I have little room elaborate on the other children's entertainments. But, then, most of them are so familiar that there is little new to say. Naming the established: ones in rising order of the ages to which they appeal. Sooty's Christmas Show (May Fair). Winnie the Pooh (Phoenix). Toad of Toad Hall (Haymarket). Peter Pan (Coliseum) and Treasure Island (Mermaid) have all been delighting their young audiences for years and are always reliable. A new one for the tinies The Adventures of Paddington Bear (Duke of York's) has all the earmarks of becoming one of the regulars. for it is appealingly done and the books are: popular. And it is also more than likely that Seven Keys to Doomsday (Adelphi) is the forerunner of many stage adventures of Dr Who and the Daleks: the technical problems of re-creating acceptably intimidating. beyond-the-stars fantasies are ingeniously solved with some imaginative use of ciné projections, although purists may think it a mistake actually to open a Dalek and discover a living being, rather than some computer programmed mechanism inside.
