The nation's hedgehogs, badgers and owls have good reason to thank the insurance company Legal And General as the company has just presented Britain's leading wildlife hospital with a brand new emergency rescue ambulance. The Wildlife Hospital Trust, incorporating St Tiggy-winkles Hedgehog Hospital in Aylesbury, has cared for and successfully treated thousands of sick and injured wild creatures since it was founded in 1979. The new ambulance will mean that the hospital will be able to reach sick animals a lot quicker and transport them back directly to the hospital, thus saving thousands of lives. Accepting the ambulance on behalf of the Trust in our photo is former Doctor Who, Colin Baker, with hedgehog friend.
