UNDERSTAND that William Hartnell, the film and television. actor, who lives at Mayfield, has agreed to come and open the Autumn Fair in the Town Hall on November 20 in aid of the House of Friendship.
After a number of successful films, Mr. Hartnell turned to television and has become known to millions as Dr. Who in the series about the Daleks. I should not be at all surprised if there was some reference to the character at the Fair.
The Old People's Welfare Committee are looking forward to another successful event and are pleased to be able to return to a Saturday.
