Beginning on the BBC in 1963, Doctor Who (The Day Of The Doctor special airs Tuesday 25 August at 8.30pm on Syfy [123]) has scared up some terrifying depictions of alien lifeforms. Here are BBC America's top five aliens from a poll conducted for The Doctor's 50th anniversary in 2013;
5. The Silence: amnesia-inducing with a look influenced by Munch's 'The Scream'.
4. The Master: a maniacal Time Lord.
3. The Weeping Angels: "quantum-locked alien killers"
2. The Cybermen: emotionless metallic usurpers.
1. The Daleks: the most enduring and iconic aliens of the Who-niverse since 1963 and, arguably, the ultimate Doctor Who villain.
