DOCTOR WHO, television's time and spare traveller, paid a call on Southampton today.
Leaving behind his blue police telephone box, he zoomed up the High Street in his old yellow wonder car, Bessie.
Hundreds of children were there to greet him, and they blocked half the road milling round the car.
The Doctor, looking not unlike Jon Pertwee, opened the new Jennings toy shop and signed autographs, to the delight of all his starstruck, fantasy-world young fans.
