Kicking off KCPT's August Summerfest drive, the world's only "experience theater on wheels" — the Dr. Who Celebration and Tour — will be at KCPT Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16.
The sophisticated mobile exhibition has been built by the BBC in support of the television phenomenon Dr. Who which is seen latenight Fridays on Channel 19. Two special Dr. Who movies — "The Sontaran Experiment" and "Genesis of the Daleks" — will he shown hack-to-back Friday, August 14 beginning at 8:10pm.
The exhibit, housed in a 48-foot trailer, features all the famous monsters and villains from the science fiction series. Set behind mirrored glass, the figures are brought to life through various lighting and sound effects, plus animation.
Located adjacent to the station at 125 E. 31st street, the cost of the exhibit admission is $7 per ticket purchased in advance, $8 purchased at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased, either by Visa or Mastercard, by calling 737-9899. For further ticket information, call Ann Randol at the station 756-3580.
