On television Doctor Who might not be the same as he used to be now he has changed his identity so many times.
But his books — or rather books based on the T.V. series — are still worth reading if you are a young Doctor Who fan.
I say very young for the lastest one, "Doctor Who and the Web of Fear" (Target 45p) is hardly adult reading.
Huge areas of plot are occasionally scimped out in a paragraph or so, which although it has the effect of keeping things going nicely, is an obvious fault.
Even so the story is an interesting one, and reading turns out to be just as good as watching the Doctor on telly.
