MRS MARY WHITEHOUSE has slapped an "X" Certificate on Dr. Who—because she claims doctors say it could cause nightmares and bedwetting among the under-sevens.
She said yesterday that BBC TV's popular doctor and his unearthly foes were screened too early in the evening.
Mrs. Whitehouse, secretary of the Viewers and Listeners' Association was answering a claim by a top BBC official that Dr. Who taught children about courage. morality, humour, photographic tricks and fantasy.
Mr. Shaun Sutton, the BBC TV's drama chief, told a Manchester University symposium on broadcasting: "Courage must be a basic ingredient of Dr. Who."
