AN INVASION of creatures from outer space is set to bit Liverpool.
But the extra-terrestrials, far from aiming to rule the world, are coming in peace to help local fans of the BBC TVs Doctor Who series celebrate their fifth annual convention.
The two-day event, on October 14 and 15, will take place at the Adelphi Hotel and will see many stars, past and present, from the 26-year-old series.
These will include soap star and former Doctor companion Frazer Hines, Nicholas Courtney and Sophie Aldred, the present Dr Who girl.
The show's monsters, including Daleks and Cybermen, will be on hand.
Organisers at the Merseyside Doctor Who Appreciation Society say the convention will be the major Dr Who event of the year, with almost 300 fans attending.
