[edit]

DR WHO fans from home and abroad are expected to flock to County Durham this autumn when actor Jon Pertwee will be the star guest at a convention.

Mr Pertwee, who was the third Dr Who and is also remembered for his role in BBC Radio's The Navy Lark, has agreed to attend the two-day convention organised by the Tardis in Durham — the Durham Dr Who fan club.

He will be joined by John Leeson, the voice of K9, and some of the stars from past episodes.

Organising secretary Mrs Josie Collins said: "A video room will screen episodes of Dr Who and there will be a charity auction to raise money for the Seaham Mencap Garden Centre.
