FORMER Dr Who Tom Baker reckons the next Timelord should be Eddie Izzard.
Baker — arguably the best Dr Who with his curly hair and long scarf —said transvestite Eddie would be perfect for the classic sci-fi show's comeback.
He said: "I think Eddie would be good because he's so strange. He looks like he has secrets.
"There is definitely a benevolent alien quality to him. I'm a great admirer of his work."
Bosoms
Baker — who travelled in his Tardis from 1974 to 1981 and was the longest running doctor in its 26-year history —also wants to see telly babe Melinda Messenger as the does glamorous assistant.
The 69-year-old actor said: "Melinda would be very good as she can scream and has bosoms — she doesn't need to act."
The BBC, which axed the show 14 years ago, hopes to have it back on telly within two years.
Bookies' favourites for the part are Alan Davies and Richard E. Grant.
