CONFIDENTIAL MEMO To: All Doctor Who production and publicity staff

From: The showrunner's office

Subject: Stolen scripts

Dear all

As you know, our ongoing commitment to secrecy has been badly compromised by the leaking of five Doctor Who scripts from the forthcoming series. Damage limitation must now begin in earnest, with the following three points a priority.

UNMASKED!

The bit in episode two where the Cyberman pulls his head off, revealing that he is, in fact, the Queen, relies on the element of surprise. I hate to lose it, not least because HRH was so patient with her time, but I think we might have to CGI in a different head. Both Mary Berry and Roger Federer have agreed in principle, although we'll have to rewrite substantial portions of dialogue in each case.

SIGNAL FAILURE

Remember the chase scene in the Paris Metro — the one we actually filmed last winter in London? Well, the script still says, "THE DOCTOR AND CLARA BOARD A CENTRAL LINE TRAIN" on one of the pages. Sooner or later someone is going to compare the dates and figure out that it was us who caused that signal failure in the Mile End area. Should we own up?

SINGING OUT OF TUNE

The script in which the Doctor is declared the winner of The Voice UK is going to be hard to keep out of the papers, especially if it's viewed as a shameless BBC promotional tie-in (which it is), or if there's any suggestion that Peter Capaldi's voice was heavily auto-tuned (which it was). There goes our shot at the Christmas number one, but whatever.
