[edit]

REALLY, why not have a female Doctor? Isn't it about time for a Time Lady, rather than a Time Lord? After all, the Doctor is a shape-shifting alien from the planet Gallifrey, a creature that could adopt any human form. Why, once the Doctor was even Matt Smith, a dark time of which we must never speak again. To be honest, I haven't really watched it since the days of Jon Pertwee, and not properly engaged since the terror of Patrick Troughton — the greatest Doctor of all, don't argue. Jodie Whittaker (above) is a terrific actress and, in her Doctor costume, she looks cool and already a master of intergalactic malarkey. Let's hope she has a male sidekick to bully. Just a little bit.
