If Jodie flops, get rid -- Tom

FORMER Doctor Who Tom Baker says Jodie Whittaker should be killed off if viewer ratings plunge.

The actress is the show's first female Time Lord.

But Baker, 83, who was the longest-serving Doctor, said the Beeb can simply replace her if she is not a success.

He said: "I think it might be quite nice to have a woman. "But you just test it. If the audience don't like it then just kill her off. She doesn't have to be an institution, just because I tayed too long. I don't think anybody knows how it'll go. "Nobody has ever failed by the way, nobody has, it's just how it is."

Whittaker's appointment has attracted a mixed response from fans and former stars of the show.
