[edit]

DOCTOR WHO'S former pint-sized sidekick, Wendy Padbury, has finally grown up.

The five-foot tall actress, whose little girl looks always brought her youngster's roles, is delighted to be playing someone her own age. Wendy, 39, turns up as a radio reporter in EMMERDALE FARM (most ITV, times vary). And it could lead to a screen romance with old pal Frazer Hines, farmer Joe Sugden in the rural soap.

Assistants

They were Doctor Who's assistants, Zoe and Jamie, when Patrick Troughton played the Time Lord 19 years ago.

"It was lovely seeing Frazer again," says Wendy. "I'm in four Emmerdale episodes, but I don't have any scenes with him." Yet insiders say Wendy could return to the famous farm and become romantically involved. And who better. than Frazer, 42, to be the lucky man?
