[edit]

PATRICK TROUGHTON is to leave the cast of BBC-1's Saturday afternoon serial Dr. Who on June 13. He has been in the serial for over two years, the same length of times as his predecessor William Hartnell.

The BBC and producer Peter Bryant are now considering what changes are to be made in the serial taking into account the need for a new lead and the advent of colour on BBC-1. As yet they have no one in mind for the part of Dr. Who.
