TRAVELLING Time Lord Dr Who is coming down to earth to marry his sexy companion.

Actor Tom Baker will wed lovely Lalla Ward, who plays Time Lady Romana, before Christmas.

Then the two space adventurers will leave the Tardis police box where they discovered their heavenly romance.

Both are leaving the popular BBC TV show at the end of the current series.

Yesterday's announcement ended months of speculation that the couple were enjoying more than a professional relationship.

Starry-eyed Lalla, 29, said: "Our romance has been on and off since the beginning of the year.

"Now it is definitely on. We are both looking forward to being married.

"I am selling my Chelsea flat and shall move in with Tom in his London home."

Lalla, daughter of authors Viscount and Lady Bangor, added: "Tom didn't pop the question. It just happened."

Tom, 45, who has been married before, is quitting Dr Who after five years in the role.

Last night he said that working on the series with Lalla had been the happiest time in his life.

He added: "When I met her I knew she was the person for me.

"I used to have an anti-marriage thing, but I have changed my mind now."
