WHEN actor Jon Pertwee's memory fails him, he picks up the telephone and rings a Gateshead number.

For its odds on that sales representative Stuart Money knows the answer.

For Stuart, of Weymouth Gardens, Low Fell, is the television star's greatest fan.

At his home in Barnes, London. Jon sod. "I think he knows more about one than I do myself.

"If I can't remember what I was doing In 1954, for instance, just call Stuart and he'll tell me which film I was working on and who was in it with me.

"He is not only my greatest fan but he has become a friend of the family."

Stuart, who is president of the Jon Pertwee Appreciation Society, also edits a regular 82 page magazine devoted to the latest developments in the career of the ex-Dr. Who. Stuart first met his idol after winning a trip to the Dr. Who studios when he won a prize for submitting two scripts for the series a few years ago.

He said: I was very keen on Dr. Who and a great admirer of Jon Pertwee. Since then! have met him many times and stayed with the family in London.

"I still follow Dr. Who out of interest but I'm not really happy with the way it is going these days," said 20-year-old Stuart.

They met again recently at a convention for 500 Dr. Who fans at Imperial College, London.

Now Jon is working on a new television series based on Worzel Gummidge. Filming for the series has begun in Hampshire.

Jon revealed details of the project in the latest issue of Stuart's magazine.

He said: "It is a very professional job indeed.

"Stuart has been really helpful in many ways. When I came up to Newcastle some time ago in the caravan I used for touring, he arranged for a site.

"I went to visit some friends and Stuart got a phone call from my agent which was very important.

"He didn't know where I was at the time, but remembered the name of the people I had gone to see. He traced them, called my agent back and then I got the call.

"He is almost as good as an agent himself. Ha often helps out when I'm doing appearances, opening supermarket and that sort of thing.

"He has a very orderly mind and can put his finger on anything I want to know right away."

Stuart produced the Jon Pertwee magazine with help from a Reading girl, Leonora Rich, and Gordon Roxburgh, of Lanarkshire.

The quarterly magazine goes out to more than 600 Jon Pertwee admirers.
